About
Founded during the American Civil War to bolster
support for Abraham Lincoln, the Union League of
Philadelphia retains its founding principles to this day.
This historic Club has been named the # 1 City Club
in America five times in the past decade, and offers
reciprocity Members exceptional service standards and
a beautiful heritage clubhouse steps from Philadelphia
City Hall.
"Our principles are the Club's driving force," explains
Membership Director Bianca D eCurtis. 'We have
wonderful amenities, but we're proud of the work we
have done - the artwork is incredible (and) we have
many historical artifacts."
Complementing the League's world-class service and
dining offerings is a robust event calendar.
'We offer different educational and historical
programming, as the membership very much values
the Club's history and its place in A merican history,"
continued D eCurtis.
\'v'ithin the last decade, the League has acquired
several private golf clubs in the surrounding area.
At its Center City clubhouse, the most notable
recent addition is a brand-new rooftop restaurant -
the fruits of a two-year construction project.
'We added an entire sixth floor to our century-plus
old building," said D eCurtis. "It is the largest dining
room in the clubhouse, and includes a seating area
outside with views overlooking the Philadelphia skyline."
Dress Code
Gentlemen: Jacket and Tie strongly preferred.
Ladies: Business suits, tailored pant or skirt ensembles
and dresses.
Denim, shorts and athletic clothing are not permitted.
Accommodations
The Union League of Philadelphia requires reciprocity
Members to stay overnight, and offers 82 well-appointed
hotel rooms.
