be able to do for the club.
The Board has also recently revised the
requirements to be an official Mentor for
the CCCI. In recognition of the fact that
times have changed and people do not keep
large kennels with large numbers of dogs
and litters any more, the requirements have
been changed to ten (10) Champions bred
and ten (10) champions finished. The time
in the breed has also been changed to align
with AKC’s recommendation of twelve (12)
years in the breed. The requirements and
application can be found in the Members
Only section of the website. It may also
be requested from our current Judges’
Education Chair, Mary Wuest. If you are a
member in good standing and interested
in being a CCCI Mentor or know someone
you believe would, please check out what is
required and what is expected.
And one more thing – if you know someone
with Chows that you think would be a good
member, invite them to join and offer to
sponsor them. It doesn’t matter if they have
a Grand Champion, show in Rally Novice or
Scent Work, or have a well-cared for pet. If
they love our breed and respect its heritage
and standard, consider telling them about
the club. If they used to be a member and
their membership lapsed, ask them to come
