REDWOOD COAST CHOW CHOW CLUB is a
very active club, always looking ahead to the next
exciting chapter of club history.
Our October double Specialties were very successful,
with majors for all four shows. Rally will be offered
as a companion event for the 5th year in 2020.
Our election of officers for the coming year are Rich- ing .
ard Wyett President, Katie Mirabelli vice President,
Sue Brough Secretary, Gene Baldi Treasurer, and the
Board Of Directors are the Club Members.
Our Club plans are to make this next year a special
time of social events combined with our regular
meetings. We want to get our dogs out to these
events with their owners. We plan to have guest
speakers and utilize the years of practical knowl-
edge our members have to share with fellow chow
enthusiasts by doing workshops such as hands on
grooming sessions for newer people in our group,
Rally instruction sessions, and experience other

The RMCCC members congratulate the other
regional Chow Chow Clubs on their very success-
ful and fun Specialties this past year and are already
brainstorming and working on our 2020 back-to-
back Specialty shows to be held on Friday, Septem-
ber 4 in Greeley Colorado at the beautiful Island
Grove Park and Exhibit Center. The specialties are
followed by the Evergreen KC all-breed shows at the
same location on Saturday and Sunday. Our judges
this year, pending AKC approval, are breeder-judge
Ms. Carmen Blankenship (TX) and Mr Darryl Vice
(CA). Our sweepstakes breeder-judge is Mr Shelly
Bowen (UT).
This show venue is consistently named the best show
site in Colorado by exhibitors, judges and handlers.
The acres of grass and trees, large air-conditioned
buildings, RV parking with hook-ups and an assort-
ment of dog-friendly hotels make this an ideal place
to enjoy a long weekend of dog shows. There are
also some great new hotels and restaurants in
Greeley.

members who do not show in conformation. We
are planning Review sessions using the Chow stan-
dard to look at strengths and needs in our own dogs
before we breed. Also we want to include Informa-
tion on ways to research pedigrees in order to make
more informed decisions when considering breed-

Our Show Chair, Cindy Wyett and her committee
are already at work putting together another great
weekend of shows in Pleasanton, CA, October 17,
2020. Our morning show will be a designated Spe-
cialty with Dell Valley KC, and the afternoon show
held in conjunction with Dell Valley. Just remember
these two shows use two separate entry forms. Look
for our Show Add coming out in the Summer issue
of Chow Life.

We are always trying to think of extra features that
will attract chow fanciers from out of the area to
come and join us. If you are considering coming to
our shows, please contact show chairman Pat Foose,
President Milli Sudduth, or me for help in planning
your stay. We are always happy to help you with any
reservations, plans, maps, or any questions you may
have. Our goal is to make sure that everyone has
such a great time that they will join us every year for
great Rocky Mountain hospitality and breathtaking
beauty of the Rockies. Cheyenne and Laramie Wyo-
ming are within easy driving distance if you want
to do a little old west sightseeing, Denver is a great
shopping and restaurant town and there is nothing
prettier that a trip up to Estes Park to see the elk and
mountain lakes!
