The final two championship shows of 2017 gave us two needing more substance and size into their breeding. Dizzy has
new champions ………. a black home-bred British bitch, Ch. massive bone & he is one of the larger dogs in the show ring at
Shasadee’s Baby Sham and a red male imported from Belarus & the moment. He made his debut into the ring in April winning
bred by Svetlana Erinova, Ch. Delight Djalo at Kyong. Best Puppy in Breed. He won his first CC from his final puppy
Readers will remember that the black bitch had previously class under breed specialist David Robbins. He also won a Res.
had a great start to her show career by not only gaining a CC CC under international all-rounder Andrew Brace during his
& a Reserve CC but also being very successful in the Junior puppy career. He quickly annexed his final 2 CCs required to
handling ring. During the year, she was purchased by Mr. Gerry become a champion under breed specialists Terry Griffin &
McCallum (owner of the kennel of Burlesk Boston Terriers) & Marianne Holmli.
so she now lives in Scotland. She has settled well and has now A gentle giant, who takes care of a 3-year-old little girl in junior
won her final 2 CCs (& so her championship) for her new owner. handling at breed shows, he stays at her side all the time taking
Her call name is “Marmite” …….. I suppose, like Marmite, one care of her.
“either loves it or loathes it”, as the saying goes! Gerry has written Dizzy is a delight to live with. He is known as the dancing dog
more details than I could as, although he is a regular exhibitor, he at home … if music is played and you touch his feet he will lift
is a welcome newcomer to chowdom. them and dance along with you and he is always happy & loving.
Gerry writes :- “After having owned, bred and shown Boston Still a young dog he loves the show ring and always gives his best.
Terriers for over 20 years, and prior to this owning Rottweilers His first litter is due in January 2018 & Linda is looking forward
since I was a child, the long awaited arrival of my first Chow was to seeing his offspring and also to continuing to campaign him in
in August 2016 in the shape of Wu, a very typy red rough bitch. 2018.
Wu sadly couldn’t be bothered with the showing nonsense, and
so when the opportunity arose to have Marmite I jumped at the
chance. She came to live with us in June of 2017 at just over two
years old. The 10 Bostons were not at all fussed by her arrival,
and Marmite quickly realized that these small dogs were small
in stature only, and they have all learned to coexist very well as a
          family.
Having gained 1 CC and 2 RCC as a youngster, the work began
to get her back into the ring. After a year’s absence, her first
show back was at Darlington Championship Show 2017, and she
delighted us all by winning her second CC under breed specialist Ch Delight Djalo at Kyong
Linda Squires. This was my first ever time in the chow ring, so a
wonderful introduction to showing this beautiful breed. Not long
after this she won her third and crowning CC under all-rounder Faith showing Ch. Delight Djalo at Kyong
judge Liz Cartledge at the Midland Counties Ch. show.
We now start a new year in 2018. How many more champions
She has been a joy to live with and has settled into our way of will it bring? The Kennel Club has just introduced a Champions
life beautifully. She is a stubborn, but very loving bitch and her class at Breed Club championship shows. This is an addition to
little idiosyncrasies keep us all entertained. Her favourite Boston the normal classification IF the breed club wishes to use it. It will

large” double act. I shall forever be in the debt of Andrea Douse for a Champions class from exhibitors. I’m not sure that this
for entrusting her to us. We all love her very much.” is what exhibitors really wanted as the winner of the class can
still challenge for the CC. I think the request was really wanting
the deserving dogs, which miss out on a championship due to
a specific dog acquiring multiple CCs (remember Ch Ukwong

At the final championship show of the year the red male, Linda
Squires’ Ch. Delight Djalo at Kyong, gained his championship.
Linda imported “Dizzy Delight” (as he is known at
home) from Belarus in March 2016. She decided to
