President’s

             Message

                                                                                  by Dave Cook

Well, COVID-19 has struck again, and we were forced to reschedule the National
Specialty scheduled for this April until 2022, however, we feel confident that the New
York specialty will go forward this fall as we should hopefully all be vaccinated by then!
We were fortunate that the Marriott Hotel in South Sioux City agreed to let us change
our contract with them until 2023. With all the changes, here are the dates for the next
                three National Specialties:

                     • October 5th to 7th, 2021 - New York Specialty at the Radisson Niagara Falls
                     • April 10th to 14th, 2022 – Pennsylvania Specialty at the Radisson Hotel
                       Harrisburg in Camp Hill, PA

                     • May 15th to 18th, 2023 – Nebraska Specialty at the Marriott Riverside
Hotel in South Sioux City, NE

This fall’s New York Specialty immediately follows the 4-day Wine Country cluster of
shows so you can enjoy over 10 days of shows if you wish too. Due to the rescheduling
of the Pennsylvania Specialty to 2022, the CCCI Membership meeting will be held as
part of the New York specialty along with a Judges Education seminar.
On another topic, this year will mark my fifth year as CCCI President, and it is time
to turn the reins over to someone new. I am proud of all the accomplishments that
CCCI has made during this time but there is one thing that I think we need to focus
on for the future and that is a return to “good sportsmanship and responsible breeding
practices”. Our beloved breed should bring us together for a common purpose and
not be divisive but unfortunately the CCCI Board has repeatedly been asked to resolve
differences between members. I just ask that every member take a step back and treat
others the way you would like to be treated. If we do, the CCCI will be better for it.
As always, it is an honor to serve as your President and please feel free to contact me
should you have any suggestions or concerns by email at huchu@aol.com or on my
cell at (630) 878-2019. I look forward to hopefully seeing everyone in Niagara Falls in
                October.
