Repairs
The two main components that may need replacement are:
• Hea ng Elements
• Thermocouple Probes
Replacing Hea ng Elements
1. Follow proper lock-out/tag-out procedures.
2. Disconnect the hea ng element wires from their connec ons (approximately 12” from where the
wires enter the heater itself).
3. Remove the 4 bolts that hold the heater in place.
4. If there is a thermocouple probe a ached to the heater, disconnect its leads at their connec on.
5. Pull out the hea ng element.
6. Slide in a new hea ng element.
Replacing Thermocouple Probes
1. Follow proper lock-out/tag-out procedures.
2. Iden fy the thermocouple probe that is non-func onal. Since the thermocouple is located within the
hea ng element, cut the faulty thermocouple probe’s wires about 12-18” from where they enter the thermocouple probe. Pull out the faulty thermocouple probe and slide the new one into the same hole. Reconnect new thermocouple probe’s wires to the same wires the faulty probe was connect- ed. Use electrical tape to protect the connec ons, do not use wire nuts (they could cause inaccurate readings).
