Safety CAUTIONS
What follows is a lis ng of some safety CAUTIONS. This list is not intended to be comprehensive of all such issues but simply examples.
Safety CAUTIONS
THE M1 SHOULD BE OPERATED ONLY IN FULL COMPLIANCE WITH ALL APPLICABLE PROVISIONS OF 19 CFR PART 1910, AND ANALOGOUS OR RELEVANT AND OR APPLICABLE STATE LAWS.
Inclement weather opera on
The M1 units are designed to operate under most weather condi ons; however, they should not be en- ergized during any weather condi ons that could cause damage to the M1 because of falling or blowing debris. In addi on, they should not be energized during rain events that might cause ooding or high water condi ons.
Lockout/Tagout
Follow all applicable lockout/tagout procedures of 29 CFR 1910. 147 and analogous state laws.
M1 Power Control Panel Access
Do not unlock or open the M1’s Power Control Panel door without following the lockout/tagout proce- dure for maintenance/repairs.
Opera ng Temperature
Do not operate the Chromalox 1604 Temperature Controller setpoint over 1550 F.
Li ing hazards
Wear hard hats
Use load-cer ed li ing harnesses
High temperatures
Do not climb inside an M1 a er soil/sludge treatment unless it is empty and has had at least 24 hours to cool. The M1’s interior and exterior can store heat from soil/sludge treatment – use CAUTION when working around the unit. A er treatment, soil/sludge temperatures are high, use CAUTION when work- ing around treated soil/sludge.
Emissions
Do not touch the M1 exhaust stack or the exhaust steam/air. The exhaust steam/air is very hot. Avoid breathing of emissions from exhaust stack.
