Message from the School Division Superintendent
These are uncertain times and it calls for steadfastness. How do we become steadfast? It can only be anchored on
the knowledge one has of the situation. Where there is a lack of it, restlessness easily propagates.
Among all the branches in the government, the Department of Education serves as the conduit in passing on the knowl-
edge that is needed in daily life and more importantly so, in times of crises. For each member of a family who learns to
read, to compute, to think critically, to analyse, to create; the public is assured that there is at least one person who can
be the font of clarity among the ocean of misinformation. Hence, there is the need to be steadfast in providing the service of
educating our learners even if extra measures are needed to provide it.”
What seems to be a mundane task for a lot, that is, teaching, now seems to be the crucial aspect in combatting various
tribulations in the society. It is like a wheel that sets the society in motion. As long as it rotates, we can be sure that there
is always a solution to the crisis at hand. Akin to its moniker, the KITE, Sulong Edukalidad serves not just as a battle cry of
DepEd but as a blueprint of actions this department and all its personnel will pursue. This year’s theme of “Sulong Edukali-
dad: Pagtataguyod sa Kinabukasan ng Bayan”, will be our pledge of commitment to the society. But it is also our hope that
we have provided you all with the skills, knowledge and attitude that you need to tread this fragile world where we are now.
Still, no matter what challenge lies ahead of you, use what you have learned in helping humanity. In this challenging situa-
tion, what we need is to collaborate with one another in trying to find better solutions to save the lives of others or even just
make things easier for our family, for our neighbours, for our friends. Let us be the lamp in brightening their days. Be stead-
fast graduates/completers! Though the future is uncertain, what is sure is what we are in now, shall also pass.
Congratulations and may God bless each one of you.
