Technical Specification
           and Standards

DETA TTE steel conduit tube and malleable conduit fittings provide for a highly versatile cable management
system. Conduit tube can be easily formed on site and with a wide range of boxes and fittings, can easily be
           configured to meet installation requirements.

Designed and manufactured to meet the highest specification requirements of the BS 4568 standard, DETA TTE
conduit tube and fittings exceed the maximum “very heavy” strength classification and are suitable for use in
           demanding environments.

           Manufacturing process
Conduit tube is manufactured in a specialist plant. Sheet steel is rolled to the correct thickness and then rolled to
form a cylindrical tube. The seam is formed by an ERW (electric resistance welding process) and excess material
is trimmed off. It is then hot dipped galvanised after manufacture to comply with Class 4, heavy protection inside
and out. Galvanising is undertaken on a purpose made plant to ensure an even zinc coating of typically 50µm and
employs a final superheated steam blast to ensure the bore is smooth and clear of debris which might damage
           cable installation.

Malleable conduit fittings are manufactured on a semi-automated production line, then annealed, galvanised
           and threaded.

           bsi approval
As part of its quality control system, DETA TTE has its conduit tube and malleable fittings independently tested by
bsi, ensuring they meets the stringent requirements of BS 4568 and BS EN 61386.

           Handling and storage
For easy handling, DETA TTE conduit is supplied in bundles where individual lengths are packed as a
mini-bundle, with a number of mini-bundles making up a master bundle. These master bundles are supplied with
lifting strops to aid mechanical handling.

Conduit tube and conduit fittings should be stored in dry conditions. Should conduit become wet, wet storage stain
can occur, however it does not affect the zinc coating on the conduit and can easily be removed with a soft brush.
