CONFERENCE COMPONENTS
Through a variety of programmatic delivery styles, including plenary sessions, developmental workshops, career
panels, and cultural experiences, the Jackie Robinson Foundation (JRF) implements its 42 Strategies for Success
curriculum throughout the conference. Scholars attend career exploration seminars, meet with key public and
private sector leaders, and participate in networking opportunities during the course of the weekend.
Plenaries
Plenary sessions feature a presentation by a keynote speaker to all conference participants. Speakers
provide insight into their personal and professional paths to success, while also expanding on the
conference theme. Previous keynote speakers include: Marc Morial, President and CEO, National Urban
League; Judy Smith, Founder and President, Smith & Company; and Sheila C. Johnson, CEO, Salamander
Hospitality, LLC.
Workshops
Assigned by class year, Scholars attend workshops covering topics designed to address issues students
commonly face on campus and as they transition from the classroom to the workplace. Workshops
scheduled for the 2020 conference are:
