Pine-Richland School District FAQs

Q: Will school tours still be provided over the summer for new families possibly
               enrolling in the district?

A: We do not have enough information to answer this question at this point. We will continue to
monitor the health and safety guidelines from the state and CDC and will update the community
               as we are able.

monitor the health and safety guidelines from the state and CDC and will update the community
               as we are able.

Q: Will the Writing Camp be held this summer?

                                               Miscellaneous Items

Q: How are PTOs going to vote for new board members? Will the current board
members remain in place until elections can be held?

A: Some PTO boards may choose to conduct virtual meetings. However, if the PTO board
member is returning to the same school, then individual PTO boards may consider having the
board member(s) maintain the position until a future meeting/election occurs. If a PTO board
member is transitioning to another school, then individual PTO Boards may consider a
temporary replacement (volunteer - board appointed) until a future meeting/election occurs.

               Graduation

Q: When will Commencement exercises be held for the Class of 2020?
A: The graduation ceremony for the Class of 2020 is scheduled for Friday, June 5, 2020, at
               7 p.m. with a rain date of Saturday, June 6, 2020, at 10:00 a.m. A traditional ceremony will be
held if health and safety guidelines permit. A “modified” version of a traditional ceremony that
limits the number of physical spectators will also be developed if public health guidelines still
limit the size of groups. In fact, a continuum with many options is being developed. A virtual
version of the ceremony is also being developed and will be aired on Friday, June 5, 2020, on
PRTV and streamed live on the website if social distancing guidelines do not permit a traditional
ceremony. If a virtual ceremony is held on June 5th, the district will offer an additional
traditional graduation ceremony on either Friday, July 24th or Friday, July 31st at 7:00
p.m. The final date will be determined based on the number of seniors available on the
two dates. Seniors will receive a survey to select the date or dates that work best for
