Description: This course provides hands-on experience in working with individuals with disabilities. The goal for each
participant is to be a better mentor, role model and advocate for a person with disabilities. Independent learning takes
place through reading, interpreting, and producing original writings regarding current topics in Special Education, as
well as weekly logs and one hands-on project each quarter. Performance is evaluated through experiential opportunities
provided in the Life Skills Support, Autistic Support, or general education environments.
