NEWSIES checked off so many boxes when it came time
for show selection. It offers something for all
performers and can speak to all who are watching. And
it inspires hope and celebrates the strength of the
human spirit, something we all need right now. This
is a story of a group of people who endure
challenges, face hardships, and join forces to rise
above them by doing things they have never done
before while taking risks of unknown potential
outcomes! This show was meant to bring us back to our
stage.

Because we knew this year would lay a foundation for
the years to come, we thought it made sense to pool
our resources, and the greatest we have is the group
of people who support us. We invited alumni from
three decades to sing with us in our chorus. Their
presence gives us a stronger level of confidence and
pride, as well as appreciation for those who paved
the way for us. We have also asked a group of people
affiliated with our musical and school to fill the
adult roles in the show, and we have found
inspiration and joy in sharing this space and this
process with them.

The support of those involved in our show as well as
our family, friends, school, and community has meant
so much to us as we have worked to create this show,
and we are thrilled to finally be able to have an
audience here to see a full musical for the first
time since 2019.
