Paul's imprisonment in Philippians 1:11

was seen as a blessing in the advancement

of the Gospel because even people in

Caesar's court and in many other places

heard and believed on the Lord Jesus Christ.

Christ's sufferings were for the glory of God,

Acts 2:23. He suffered at the hands of

wicked men, and yet He brought many to

salvation through His death, burial, and

resurrection. Joseph was sold into slavery,

and his sufferings brought salvation to his

whole family and to the birth of a nation,

and he said in Genesis 50, verse 20, “But as

for you, ye thought evil against me; but God

meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it

is this day, to save much people alive.”
