In 1 Timothy 5:23 the Bible speaks of

Timothy and his often infirmities. Now, I

want you to just think this through. Timothy

was a man of great faith according to 2

Timothy 1:8, and he was Paul's own son in

the faith, 1 Timothy 1:1, but in chapter 5,

verse 23, the apostle Paul told Timothy,

“Drink no longer water, but use a little wine

for thy stomach's sake and thine often

infirmities.” Paul did not heal him at this

time. Paul did not tell him to repent of his

sins. Paul did not tell him to have faith and

he could be healed. Paul describes

medicine. He said to “use a little wine for

thy stomach's sake.”
