might not serve nor worship any god,
except their own God.”
So we find that when Shadrach, Meshach,
and Abednego are confronted with a
compromise, they basically say, “We don't
have to think about it; we don't have to
discuss it; we don't have to pray about it. We
know what we're to do.” And then the king
testified that they trusted in their God and
they yielded their bodies. And here's the
result of all of that: Verse 29, “Therefore I
make a decree, That every people, nation,
and language, which speak any thing amiss
against the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and
Abednego, shall be cut in pieces, and their
houses shall be made a dunghill: because
