So in verses 1 through 15, Jesus sends the
disciples out and He says to expect rejection.
He says some will receive you but many will
not. In verses 16 through 23, He says clearly
here to expect persecution, even down to
family members. And then in verses 24 and 25,
as we just read, He's saying that, for Christ's
sake, men will hate them, but in verses 26
through 31, Jesus tells them over and over not
to fear men but to fear God and trust God.
Now, notice verses 32 and 33. Jesus said,
“Whosoever therefore shall confess me before
men, him will I confess also before my Father

which is in heaven. But whosoever shall deny
me before men, him will I also deny before my
Father which is in heaven.” Now, this statement
is given to us many times in the Scripture. It's
