Now, what is the conflict of this sword? I'm

reading verses 34, 35, and 36 in Matthew 10.

Jesus says, “Think not that I am come to send

peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a

sword. For I am come to set a man at variance

against his father, and the daughter against

her mother, and the daughter in law against

her mother in law,” and verse 36 is the verse I'm

using as our text, “And a man's foes shall

be they of his own household.” In verse 34

Jesus said, "Think not." In other words, He's

saying don't misunderstand; do not have any

thoughts of false expectations. He's saying all

will not be saved; there will not be peace in the

world. There's peace in the hearts and lives of

the individual Christians who love Him, but

there will not be peace in the world. There may

not be peace among relatives and there may
