talking about the body of truth revealed in the

Gospel taught by Jesus Christ and by the

apostles. When he says "the faith," he's talking

about that body of truth that you and I hold

dear. He says to contend for it. Jude said in

verse 4, “For there are certain men crept in

unawares, who were before of old ordained to

this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the

grace of our God into lasciviousness, and

denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus

Christ.”

So we're told to contend for the faith. The

phrase "the faith" is used in a sense of a creed

or an orthodox belief. We're to fight for the

faith. We're to contend for it. The Bible tells us

in 2 Timothy, chapter 2, in verse 15 to rightly

divide the word of truth, divide truth from

error. Turn with me to 2 Timothy. Many of you
