Segment No. 5, the “Pastoral.” Fantasia is
one of Disney’s most popular films. It wasn't
originally, but it has been over the years.
Segment 5, the “Pastoral,” Beethoven's music
complete with Zeus, Bacchus, Vulcan, and
Diana. These characters will reappear in a
more fractured form more than a half a
century later in Hercules. These Greek gods
are portrayed at play to the classical music.
There are half-horse and half- human men
and women. There are unicorns, flying
horses, fauns and cupids, and the cupids
work hard in arranging for the males and
females, the half-horses and the half-
humans, to come together and mate. They're
making the arrangements for all this to take
place. And as I said, the girls and the men
