P. 48

Here's what Charles Spurgeon has said on the

             subject of holiness:

“Christ will be master of the heart, and sin

must be mortified. If your life is unholy,

then your heart is unchanged, and you

are an unsaved person. The Savior will

sanctify His people, renew them, give them

a hatred for sin and a love for holiness.

The grace that does not make a man better

than others is a worthless counterfeit.

Christ saves His people, not in their sins but

from their sins. Without holiness no man

                    shall see the Lord.”

How true this is. If we're going to imitate

God as in Matthew 5:48, if we're going to come

before Him in prayer — Hallowed be thy name,

if we are to be holy as God is holy, not only

positionally but in our practical walk, then we

must keep our eyes upon a holy and a righteous
