A message from Tom Sorley, CEO

Twenty-five years is a long time, but as I look back in time, it really doesn’t seem like that long ago. It seems like only
COVER STORY yesterday that Ray and Lou Rosendin took a group of us down to the Sainte Claire Club in downtown San Jose to let
us know that they were selling the Company to the employees by forming an ESOP.
04 This is My Company None of us really knew what that meant, or how that would impact the Company or any of us personally. The news

left each of us with some level of apprehension about what the future might look like here at Rosendin.
Celebrating 25 Years of Employee Ownership
Some say that the “unknown” can cause more fear than any other single factor in most people’s lives. But to us, the
unknown brought about curiosity! Our thoughts were more focused on what we could create, the lives that we could
FEATURES positively influence, and the vision we had about a Company focused on people . . . a Company that cared about
        relationships!
03 Building the Right Company 22 Rosendin’s Design+Build Evolution We all had that glimmer of exploration about the future. The unknown, well, that was just some place we hadn’t been

yet and we had the chance to watch the future develop right in front of us.

14 2017 ESOP Month 26 Data Driven Roadmap What we did know is that we would not have to face the journey alone. For the most part, those that were in that
room knew one another, trusted one another, and respected one another. Those that felt differently left the company

to pursue other objectives. When all settled out, what we had was the makings of a very good, well disciplined,

Additionally, we knew that we were surrounded by many of the best and brightest our industry had to offer.
Individuals who, with very few exceptions, shared the same values, cared for the company, had a passion for
building, and an earnest desire to bring value in all that we do. We were builders and we were very good at it. We
IN EVERY ISSUE would build our new Company, one person at a time, one customer at a time, one relationship at a time.

Over the years, we have met many others that shared our same values and we have been blessed that they have
16 Project Profiles 30 Training joined us in our quest. The term team wasn’t static. . . it was dynamic, and we got better with each new addition to

24 LEAN 37 Life Balance Our journey has been anything but easy. Success never is. Our teams have weathered many storms, many
economic downturns, market shifts, labor and material shortages, and yet still held steadfast to our relationship
based business model, our focus on good financial soundness, and the development of a capacity
of resources . . . competent and collaborative that would help our customers and our employees

Stay informed on everything Rosendin — As stated many times in the past, we understand that real growth is not about SIZE; it is about
innovative new technology, career openings, getting better. Throughout the organization, our teams are finding more efficient (doing things
and the ways we support the communities right) and effective (doing the right thing) ways to deliver our product.
