four stages of life, and the four seasons. The circle

Although a roadrunner is capable of
flight, it spends most of the time on
the ground, running at speeds of 15
miles per hour (or more) to catch its
prey (insects, small reptiles, rodents,
tarantulas, scorpions and small birds).

A black bear is our state’s official
animal! Black bears can weigh 130 -
500 pounds (occasionally as much as
700). The black bear is omnivorous
and will eat just about anything.
While they prefer nuts, berries, grass-
es, and roots, they also eat insects
and small mammals, and if nothing
else is available, carrion. They are also
excellent swimmers!
