Method
The chain sinnet is very
simple to make. It
begins with a bight,
with the ends held
parallel to each other
(1). Put your hand
through the eye of the
bight and take hold of
the longer end of the
rope (2). Pull your hand
out again to form a
noose as described on
page 101 (3). Now pull
a bight from the longer

end through the loop of
the noose (4). Repeat
the operation until the
chain reaches the
desired length (5,6).
The chain can be
instantly released
simply by pulling on the
working end. To
prevent it undoing.
thread the end through
the last eye instead of
bringing it through in a
bight.
