FOUR·STRAND
       SINNET
       Third type

       This is a marvellous example
of a woven plat. As the
       photos show. three of the
       strands (in this case white.
red. and yellow) make up the
warp and one, the blue strand,
acts as the weft. The braid
       should be tightened well each
time the blue strand is passed
       across the others, giving a
       very ornamental effect which
       keeps its shape even under
       great strain. The method is
       clearly illustrated in the
       sequence of photographs.
