BOWLINE

       With a rope under tension
This is used by sailors to hold
        a boat.
        Method
Make a simple knot and pull
the end to form a turn in the
standing part (1. 2). Pass the
        end behind the standing part
and insert it through the eye
(3.4). Now pass the end over
the standing part and insert it
into the loop just formed by
the end (5. 6). Give the end a
        sharp pull upwards to form
        the bowline (7).
