Claire was born into horseback riding, both her
mother and grandmother founding and operat-
ing successful stables in California and the Calgary
area. Claire has had numerous accomplishments
through her riding career thus far, of note she won
CET Finals at 12 years of age and was a contender
in the Maclay finals the following year. While still a
junior she rode in the International Ring at Spruce
Meadows, and she has been titled champion of the
Canadian Hunter Derby Finals. She would like to
train and work towards achieving the honour of representing Canada on the Canadian Equestrian Team in Interna- tional competitions, while also running a successful business training and sharing her passion and expertise with students and sale horses.
BALLERINA became Claire’s mount back in April 2021. They have shown in the 3’6 Hunters and Hunter Derbies as well as the 1.20m Jumpers most recently. Claire is interested to hear from John and Beezie Madden where they see BALLERINA’s potential and the best plan to reach it. BALLERINA’s sire, BALOUS BELLINI was outright champion at his stallion performance test in München, scoring 9.69 for jumping ability, 9.5 for rideability and 9.13 for character. Numerous of his offspring compete at the 1.45m level. BALLERINA’s Dam Sire, DINARD L, has had offspring placing highly and victorious in international classes in both Jumping and Dressage. In Germany DINARD L himself was bronze in the 1993 and 1994 Bundeschampionat for 5 and 6 year old jumpers. BALLERINA’s brother BOATENG 9 is successfully competeing at the 1.45m level in Europe.
