Ranua Vahşi Yaşam Parkı
Kuzey Kutbu ilginç bir coğrafya, bizim ül-
kemize pek benzemiyor. Bu topraklarda
yaşayan canlılar da çok farklı. Birbirinden
güzel kuzey yerelleri burada koruma altı-
na alınmış. Özellikle de kutup ayıları. Kutup
ayıları dünyanın en tatlı canlılarından. Öyle gü-
zeller ki anlatamam. Bembeyaz tüyleri, koca bu-
runlarıyla kutupların simgesi haline gelmişler. Kutupta yaşayan hayvanların tüyleri karda kendilerini kamufle ede- bilsinler diye beyazdır. Kuşlar, ayılar ve diğer canlılar beyaz tüyleriyle çıkıyor karşımıza parkta. Sığın ve Ren Geyikleri, Beyaz Baykuşlar da burada görülen canlılardan.
Ne yemeli?
Kuzey Kutbu’nda, Finlandiya’da bol bol somon balığı ye- nir. Somon balığı doğal, denizden taze taze tutulup geliyor. Hayatımızda tattığımız en leziz somonları burada yedik. Somonlu salatalar, çorbalar, makarnalar... Hepsi mükemmel lezzetleriyle burada sizleri bekliyor.
Burada sizleri bekleyen bir başka lezzet daha var. Laponya peynirli, yeni doğum yapmış ineğin taze sütünden yapılan La- ponya Tatlısı. Üzerinde cloudberry yani frambuazın tam kızarmamış haliyle top- lanan bir dağ meyvesi ilave servis ediliyor. Peynir aynı Hellim Peyniri gibi kızarıyor üs- tünde süt ve meyveler... Parmak ısırtan bir lezzete sahip. Yolu düşenlere tavsiye edilir.
Nerede kalmalı?
Kuzey Kutbu iglolarıyla meşhur olan bir bölge. Tarihte bura- da yaşayanlar, kendilerine buzdan evler yaparlarmış. Bu buz evlere iglo deniliyor. İglolarda yaşayanlar bu toprakların ye- relleri Sami’ler, başka bir deyişle hepimizin bildiği Eskimolar. Kendilerine kolay ısınmak için küçük küçük iglolar yapmışlar. Kuzeyde bugün hâlâ insanlar bu iglolarda yaşam sürerken, Rovaniemi de iglolar modern hâlleriyle çıkıyor karşımıza. Ultra süper lüks tasarlanmış iglolarda turistler bu harika do- ğanın tadını çıkarıyorlar.
Her yeri camdan yapılmış küçük ultra lüks odaların içi sıcacık. Kışın -50 dereceden igloya girince ısınıyor, yazınsa serinliyorsunuz. Kışın kuzey ışıklarını camlardan izlemiştik, yazın da bat-
mayan güneşi seyrettik. Harika bir tecrübe oldu. Batmayan bir güneş olunca insan hiç uyumak istemiyor. Her anı değerlendir- mek, çekimlerde güneşi bol bol kullanmak istiyor. Biz de öyle yapıyoruz. Güzel, yö- resel ahşaptan bir tekneye binip Finlandi- ya’nın en güzel adalarından birine Lapland’ın Rovaniemi’nin Kotisaari adasına gidiyoruz. Bu- rası için bir yeryüzü cenneti diyebiliriz.

Ranua Wildlife Park
The North Pole is an interesting loca- tion which doesn’t look like our country at all. The living things are very different in these lands. The beautiful northern lo- cal animals are under protection here. Es- pecially the polar bears. Polar bears are one of the sweetest creatures in the world. They’re so beautiful that I’m at a loss for words. They have become the symbols of the poles with their white feathers and big noses. Arctic animals have white feathers so that they can camouflage themselves in the snow. Birds, bears and other creatures come out with white feathers in the park. Moose,
reindeer and white owls are some of the local animals.
What to eat?
In the North Pole and Finland salmon is pretty common. Salmon are freshly caught from the sea. We have eaten the most delicious salmon ever here. Salmon salads, soups and pasta with salmon ... They are all wait-
ing for you here with their excellent tastes.
There is another flavor waiting for you here. Lappish dessert made of Lappish cheese which is produced with the fresh milk of a newly born cow. On top of the dessert is the cloudberry, a raspberry which is collected as a mountain fruit that isn’t ripe yet. Cheese fries just like Hellim cheese and there are milk and fruits on top of it ... It has a fantastic flavor. It is recom-
mended for those who visit the area.
Where to stay?
North Pole is a region which is famous for the Arctic igloo. Those who lived here throughout history made themselves ice houses. These ice houses are called igloos. The inhabi- tants of the igloos are the Samis, in other words the Eskimos as we all know. They made little igloos to warm themselves up. In the north, while people still live in these igloos, Ro- vaniemi is also home to modern igloos. Tourists enjoy this wonderful nature in the ultra and super luxury igloos.
The small ultra-luxurious rooms are all made of glass and warm inside. In winter it is - 50 Celsius and as you enter the igloo you get warm and in the sum- mer you cool down. In winter we watched the northern lights through the windows and in summer we watched the setting sun. It was a wonderful experience. When the sun doesn’t set, one doesn’t want to sleep at all. One wants to use the sun to the fullest in the shootings. That’s what we do. We get on a beautiful boat made of local wood and go to one of Finland’s most beautiful islands, Kotisaari, which is located in Rovaniemi, Lapland. We can say that this
place is like a paradise on earth.
