Asya’nın Hawaii’si; Jeju Adası
Dünyayı gezerken bu haftaki duraklarımızdan biri de hep görmek için can attığım, dünyanın bir ucundaki Jeju Ada- sı. Pasifik Okyanusu’nun bir kolu olan Güney Denizi’nde yer alan Jeju adası Güney Kore’nin göz bebeği. Ada, Güney Kore’nin en büyük adası. 605 kilometrekarelik yüz ölçümü- ne sahip olan başkent Seul’dan 3 kat daha büyük olan ada, volkanik bir ada. Volkanik oluşu sebebiyle de dünyanın yedi harikasından biri olarak gösteriliyor. Çünkü Jeju Adası vol- kanik kayaların ilginç şekiller oluşturmasından meydana ge- liyor. Zaman içinde rüzgarların da bu taşları aşındırması ile ada adeta usta bir heykel traşın elinden çıkmış gibi... Adada gezilip görülecek volkanik dağlar ve kraterler de var. Zaten adanın her yani volkanik.
Sönmüş bir volkan, miras kalan lav taşları
Milyonlarca yıl önce volkanik patlamalar sonucu oluşmuş Jeju Adası bugün geriye kalan lavlardan oluşmuş bir ada. Adanın çevresine, plajlarına baktığımız zaman bu volkanik taşlar ve kayalar her yerde kendini gösteriyor. Bembeyaz plajların üzerinden doğan siyah taşlar inanılmaz görüntü- ler oluşturuyor. Kesinlikle görülmeye, keşfedilmeye değer manzaraların adresi bu ada.
Jeju’nun volkanik dağı, Hallasan
Bu adada yapılacak en güzel işlerden biri de adada yer alan volkanik dağları gezmek, macera dolu dakikalar geçirmek. Buraya gelen turistler isterlerse bu dağın zirvesine çıkarak krateri görebiliyor, isterlerse de dağın eteklerindeki doğal güzellikleri keşfediyorlar. Tabii bu krater yürüyüşü oldukça uzun bir zaman aldığından dolayı biz bu yürüyüşü gerçek- leştiremiyoruz fakat dağın eteklerinde yer alan köyleri gezip, doğal güzellikleri keşfedelim istiyoruz. Now, it is time to visit Jeju Island, which is very far from our country. Located on the Southern Coast of the Pacific Ocean, Jeju Island is very popular. The island is the largest island in South Korea. The volcanic island covers 605 square kilometers of floor area and it is three times bigger than the capital, Seoul. Because of the volcanic formation, it is considered as one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Jeju Island was formed through volcanic activity. The erosion of the wind shaped the island in time. The island looks like a masterpiece of a sculptor. There are many volcanic moun- tains and craters in the island. In fact, the island is volcanic as a whole.
A dormant volcano, inherited lava stones
Jeju Island was formed after the volcanic eruptions that occurred millions of years ago and the island was formed from the remaining lava. When we travel around the island and the beach, we can observe the stones and rocks every- where. You should see the view with the black rocks on the beaches. Volcanic Mountain of the Jeju, Hallasan
One of the most beautiful things to do on this island is certainly to visit the volcanic mountains of the island and to enjoy the adventure. Tourists may visit the peak of this mountain and see the crater, or they may spend time for discovering the natural beauties on the foothills of the mountain. Since the hiking for viewing the crater takes a quite long time, we could not do it. However, we would like to visit the villages on the foothills of the mountain and dis- cover the natural beauties. Let me introduce you the unique beauty of Cheonjiyeon Waterfall.
