Şehrin en görkemli tarihi eserleri arasında, Naxoslula- rın milattan önce 3.yy’da inşa ettikleri, Teatro Greco bu- lunuyor. Yani, Yunan tiyatrosu. Dağın tepesinde yamaç- ta, Sicilya kıyıları, parıl parıl parlayan İyon denizi ve karlı Etna Dağı’nın olağanüstü manzarasına nazır yer alan bu antik Yunan tiyatrosu, 1. yüzyılın sonlarında bölgeyi ele geçiren Romalılar tarafından restore edilmiş. Bu sebep- le, biraz Roma mimarisinin izlerini taşıyor. Bugün, hala performanslara, yazın film, müzik, dans ve tiyatro festi- vali gibi etkinlikleri içeren Taormina Arte’ye ev sahipliği yapan tiyatronun gerçekten büyülü bir manzarası var.
Tarihi, dar sokakları dolduran turistleri, moda ve sanat stüdyoları, tasarım butikleri ve ünlü kafeleriyle Taormi- na, Sicilya’nın en renkli yerlerinden biri. Sicilya, seyaha- tinizde birkaç gün Taormina’yı da eklemeyi unutmayın.

Corso Umberto
Tüm kenti, neredeyse boydan boya geçen trafiğe ka- palı caddesi asla unutulmamalı. Üzerinde yer alan resto- ranlar, kafeler, barlar ve dükkanlar ile şehrin en hareketli ve canlı noktası. Caddenin tam ortasında yer alan Piazza IX Aprile ise, muhteşem manzarası ile dünyanın en gü- zel meydanlarından biri. Yüzlerce metre, dimdik aşağıya inen tepenin altında uzanan deniz ve ileride karlarla kaplı Etna Dağı tepeleri, muhahak fotoğraflanmalı.
Arkeoloji müzesi
Bir şehrin geçmişini anlamanın en güzel yolu, müzele- rine girip çıkmak. Burada da arkeoloji müzesi listemizde yer alıyor. Roma hamamlarının yer aldığı, Palazzo Badia Vecchia’da yer alan arkeoloji müzesinde Antik Yunan ve Roma kazılarından çıkarılan eserler sergileniyor.
Koylarda plaj keyfi
Yazın deniz keyfinin çıkarılacağı en güzel adres, bu ka- saba. Kıyılarında bir sürü ada ve adacıklar var. En meş- huru ise, küçük bir ada olan Isola Bella. “Guzel Ada” an- lamına geliyor. Taormina’nın ada ile buluştuğu nokta, en muhteşem koylardan bir tanesi.
Ayrıca, Taormina’nın hemen altındaki sahil şeridin- de yer alan özel plajları da yazın deniz keyfi yapmak için ideal. The street which is closed to tra c and across almost the whole city should never be forgotten. With its res- taurants, cafes, bars and shops it is the most vibrant and lively point of the city. Piazza IX Aprile, right in the mid- dle of the street, is one of the most beautiful squares in the world with its magni cent view. The sea lying under a hill descending hundreds of meters uprightly and the peaks of Mount Etna covered by snow should be de - nitely photographed.
Archeological museum
The best way to understand a city’s past is to get in and out of its museums. Here, the archeological muse- um is also in our list. In the archeological museum in the Palazzo Badia Vecchia, where Roman baths are located, the works from ancient Greek and Roman excavations are exhibited.
Beach pleasure in bays
The best address in the summer to take advantage of the sea is this town. There are a lot of islands and isles on its coasts. The most famous one is Isola Bella, a small is- land. It means “Beautiful Island”. The point that Taormi- na meets with the island is one of the most spectacular bays.
