Tam 11 yıldır Likör benimle birlikte; üniversite okurken, sonra- sında çalışmaya başladığımda, evlendiğimde, kızım doğ- duğunda o hep benimleydi. Tek başıma kaldığım en zor zamanlarımda da bana destek oldu. Kızıma hamileyken etrafımdan duyduğum her “Bebek doğunca kedini gön- dereceksin herhalde değil mi?” cümlesi için kumbaraya bir lira atsam herhalde zengin olmuştum. Nedense, bizim ülkemizde bebekle hayvan aynı evde olmaz gibi bir inanış var. Ancak, Güneş doğduğundan beri Likör’ün hiçbir zor- luğu olmadı. Bilakis Güneş’in her türlü eziyetine, çekiş- tirmesine, oyun isteğine sabrediyor zavallıcık. Güneş de bu sayede hayvanların asla korkulacak canlılar olmadığını, empati yapmayı, hayvan sevgisini ve arkadaşlığını yaşa- yarak öğreniyor. Bu durumun onu çok daha merhametli bir insan yaptığına da bizzat şahidim.

For 11 years, Likör has been with me; when I was in college, when I started working, when I got married, when my daughter was born, it was always with me. It also supported me when I was alone. When I was preg- nant to my daughter, I heard so many times this question; “You’re going to send your cat when the baby is born, ar- en’t you?”. For some reason, in our country there is a be- lief that the baby and the animal shouldn’t be in the same house. However, Likör caused no difficulties since Güneş was born. On the contrary, it is patient about any trouble that Güneş causes to it, it responds to every game. In this way, Güneş learns that animals are never to be feared, to live with empathy, animal love and friendship. I have per- sonally witnessed that this has made Güneş much more compassionate.
