Iran’s ‘end-time’ ideology
Targeting the digital clock could not
have been a more symbolic strike. The
clock, often dubbed the ‘Doomsday Clock’,
embodied the Islamic Republic of Iran’s
ideological obsession with destroying Israel.
In the worldview held by Iran’s leadership,
We also know that what starts in Iran
rarely stays in Iran. Iran’s hatred of Israel
and America has formed the bedrock of its
foreign policy for decades. This includes a
deep hostility toward the United Kingdom,
often expressed in chants and flag burnings
during pro-regime demonstrations over the
years.
the intent to destroy Israel is not merely
political, it is sacred, and a precondition for
their warped end-times fulfilment.
World’s most prolific state sponsor of terror
From chants of “Death to Israel” in
Tehran to the placement of a “Countdown
to Israel’s Destruction” clock in Tehran’s
public square, the regime has never hidden
its genocidal intent. When Iran develops
its missiles, it proudly inscribes them with
“Death to Israel” and unveils them publicly.
Since the 1979 Islamic Revolution, Iran’s
clerical regime has fused apocalyptic
ideology with foreign policy, viewing the
eradication of Israel as a necessary step
in ushering in the return of the Imam
Mahdi, Shiite Islam’s messianic figure or
“redeemer” who they believe will unify and
empower Muslims. It is upon this ideology
that Iran’s rulers dramatically reshaped the
nation’s religious and political identity.
More specifically, this belief not only targets
Iran is also widely regarded as the
world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism.
Through its elite military branch, the Islamic
Revolutionary Guard Corps orchestrates,
funds, and arms a network of extremist
groups across the Middle East and beyond.
Iran has issued numerous threats against
both the United Kingdom and the United
States with multiple plots foiled.
In the past two years alone, Israel has
been invaded by Hamas and Palestinian
Islamic Jihad from Gaza, attacked by
Hezbollah from Lebanon, assaulted by
the Houthis from Yemen, as well as been
directly targeted by the Iranian regime itself,
even before Israel fired a single weapon in
defence.

of the Jewish people and the collapse of
Western powers.
Iranian leaders have repeatedly called for
the annihilation of Israel and the so-called
“liberation of Jerusalem.”
In 2005, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, then
President of Iran, closed a speech at the
United Nations with a call for “mighty Allah”
to “hasten the emergence” of the Imam
Mahdi – a supposed direct descendant of
the Prophet Muhammad.
The current Supreme Leader Ayatollah
Ali Khamenei has described Israel as a
“cancerous tumour” and vows that it “will
not exist within 25 years.”
As recently as March this year, Ayatollah
Khamenei published an infographic on his
website outlining his vision for destroying
Israel. Even now, following setbacks, Iran’s
threats are not rhetorical and they must be
taken with absolute seriousness.
Not only is the digital clock is gone, but
Khamenei’s prophecy has been shattered.
His terror proxies have been obliterated, and
Iran’s nuclear capabilities have been set back
in time.
The Iranian regime’s genocidal clock may
have been shattered, but every tick of that
shameful, antisemitic symbol was a reminder
of the countdown to the regime’s own
humiliation. After all, the Bible clearly says
that the enemies of Israel will not succeed.
Those who attempt to wipe out the
Jewish people will utterly fail and be put to
shame. According to the Bible, even in the
final battle against Israel, God will intervene
decisively:
“I will gather all the nations to Jerusalem
to fight against it… Then the Lord will go out
and fight against those nations, as he fights
on a day of battle.” (Zechariah 14:2-3)
