ver 690 rockets were fired into Israel from Gaza within 48 hours over a single weekend during
May - the largest attack since 2014.
Israel’s Iron Dome anti-missile system intercepted 86% of rockets fired at civilian targets. However, 39 made their way through, killing four Israelis. Thousands of residents spent 4th and 5th May running into bomb shelters and schools were forced to close.
Israel responded as any nation would. It defended its people by striking terror targets belonging to Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) and Hamas, including weapon facilities, rocket launch sites and terror cells. But here is the significant difference:

Out of the hundreds of rockets fired into Israel, not one was aimed at a military target – instead they were intended
to strike Jewish homes, schools and businesses.
However, the UK media largely failed to report the unbiased facts and wider context. For example, all mainstream media platforms in the UK carried the lie that a Palestinian pregnant mother, her unborn child and a 14-month-old baby were murdered by an Israeli rocket. One of the proponents of this lie was a retweet by the adult son of Jeremy Corbyn. But by the end of the weekend, Palestinian Islamic Jihad admitted the tragic killing was caused by one of their misfired rockets.
In response to the lies, CUFI made a real impact by sharing the truth through social media. With the help of CUFI supporters, our Facebook activity reached a total of one million people during that Bank Holiday weekend.
