Tying
Lay the two lines together and parallel, ends pointing in opposite directions.
Wrap and tuck as shown (figures 1–3). Work snug and tighten (figure 4).
Knot lore
The knot researcher and prolific innovator Harry Asher discovered this knot
while extrapolating all possible permutations of the common sheet bend. It first
appeared in A New System of Knotting (1986) and was later published in The
Alternative Knot Book (1989).
