LAPP KNOT

               Purpose

Many knots that incorporate a draw-loop as a means of quick-release may still
not come apart completely. This is especially true of waist-ties, when bodily

pressure and friction between working end and loop can still require hands to

pull the knot undone. This knot has no such shortcoming. One tug and it falls
               away.

               Tying
Given a loop of some kind (an angler’s knot is illustrated), wrap and tuck as

shown (figures 1–3). Tighten the knot.
