Tying
               In a doubled cord, begin by tying a carrick bend with the two ends on opposite

               sides (figure 1). Then tuck each end in turn, away from the loop (as shown), to

               emerge  together  from  what  will  be the top of the finished knot (figures  2–4).
               Carefully shape the knot, with loop and ends going down and up respectively, to
               create what resembles a 3L x 4B Turk’s head (pages 144–145), but tied in two

               strands (figure 5).
