Marie Wilson (Las) Ride 20th February 2022

My 1st lead ride for 2022 and on my new Chariot Athena. We
had 23 bikes at the commencement of the ride. There is
nothing more exhilarating than 23 bikes starting up (3 of us
Gals on our trusty steeds) and all waiting for me to move to
the front of the ride….ahhh the power. Actually, fabulously
scary! Weather was a little overcast and a cool 23 degrees;
mother nature reminding us not too much longer until the
arrival of autumn.
Hotel Alma to morning coffee at Strathalbyn via Peters Creek
Rd, Brookman Rd, Meadows onto Bull Creek Rd and Henry
Martin Rd. Not without incident with ‘Jinx’ Graham collecting
a puncture, but he managed a repair and was able to
continue with the ride.

Some of the mob chose to leave us at Strath and we
continued onto Macclesfield, Echunga, back thru Meadows to
Kangarilla, Clarendon to the Flagstaff Hotel at Darlington for
Lunch.
Wind Therapy achieved for all and in the words of
Roundabout John (below) the road being “a ribbon weaving
amongst the landscape” and us ‘in it”.
