            Fast forward 76 years.
Back in 1995, Geelong resident and Ulysses member Leon Millard attended the Toowoomba AGM and whilst there he met
up with three other Ulysses members from the Geelong area. Leon was determined on his return to start a
Geelong branch, so placing a notice in the local newspaper and with a copy of the Ulysses members from the Geelong
area he conducted a phone search to see if they were interested in forming a Geelong branch. A total of 13 riders
attended the inaugural meeting of the Geelong Ulysses Riding Group, at the Millard residence in Lara, a suburb of
Geelong. This took place in October 1995 with Leon elected as the first co-ordinator/ president.
On the 2nd November 1995 the first official branch meeting was held at the Bay View Hotel in Geelong. This was
followed soon after by the first inaugural ride to Apollo Bay (Great Ocean Road) via the West Barwon Dam, led by future
co-ordinator/ president Laurie Clutterbuck. By 1996 the Geelong Group had grown to approximately 60 members, by
2001, 190 members and in 2004 with over 300 members.
