I’ve got a Story
Who am Dennis Petersen
young 71 yrs
Home Armstrong Creek 3217
Employment Superannuation .. retired of course
I have spent my working career as VicPol law enforcement officer from 1971 to 1983, Postman 1988 to 2002, Security Guard to
2008, Armed Guard Cash Logistics to Retirement 2016
Last photo before motorcycle accident in 1980 .. PR photo shoot for the TV Weekly Magazine and when published l was in
hospital and my work career with Vic Government was over .. recognise Reg Gorman from “The Sullivans” - l am the only one
still alive and riding still!! Honda CB900 Bold D’Ore was a great machine then Honda stopped making them .. no shaft drive
maybe.
As a result of these injuries from the accident which were extensive .. l have been operated on 47 times with ABI (Acquired
Brain Injury), 5 head fractures under the helmet, Ear Damage, Lost Smell but l can still see .. Pensioned Off in 1983 as
basically stuffed and not capable to work full time because of memory loss and change of personality perspective
Today l love to ride the 2008 Yamaha FJR1300 Gen II (see above)
To get to this point of my life has been an adventure .. known as ‘BIGGLES’ at our Geelong Ulysses Club .. why that name? l
like anything to do with flying and always wanted to fly but realised that wasn’t going to happen with Brain Damage and
projected costs involved .. model aircraft making was a great hobby then Flight Simulation came along .. WoW .. with four
children needing education and a Payout from the Superannuation l went back to work as a Postie but incurred a Permanent
Spinal damage and again Medically Retired in 2002. Then Armed Security Guard and achieved my final work career position
as an ATM technician/guard looking after Cash Logistics even at the Reserve Bank in Melbourne CBD .. notice previously l
had Brain Damage? How did l pass the Exams where 100% was the only Pass Mark?
