GEELONG BRANCH ULYSSES CLUB INC.
Social Meeting Notes from Meeting on 17 August 2022
Meeting commenced at: 7.00 p.m. Held at Sir Charles Hotham Hotel.
Attendance: 14 members in attendance with 4 apologies, per attendance book.

Our next Social Meeting is on this Wednesday 17 August at the Charles Hotham Hotel. Meals and
socializing from 6.00pm and the meeting commences at 7.00pm. Hopefully we will see you there!
The run of mediocre winter weather has continued, however, none of our rides have been cancelled and
we continue to always have some enthusiastic riders turn up for the various club rides. The reports and
photos at https://geelongulysses.forumotion.com always show plenty of smiling faces. Anyway, it’s only a
few weeks until Spring and hopefully the weather will provide lots more opportunities to get out riding in
decent temperatures.
It's also great to see that some international motorcycle race meetings are back after prior COVID

cancellations. The Moto GP at Phillip Island is scheduled for the weekend of 15-16 October and the World
th
th
Superbikes are on 19 and 20 November. Tall Paul is a regular at the Island and he mentioned some
weeks ago the accommodation and camp grounds are all pretty much booked out. Locally the Geelong
th
Revival Motoring Festival is scheduled for 26 – 27 November. I’m also looking forward to some camping at
some of the smaller race meetings such as Broadford and Mac Park in Mt
Gambier. I haven’t had any word yet about the Ulysses Memorial event at Mt
Macedon.
Many thanks to Mal for his work in getting a bunch of social events booked for
the Branch for the rest of 2022. Please get behind the social get togethers and
you won’t be disappointed. Best wishes to all and hopefully we will see you at
Wednesday’s meeting, or at a forthcoming club ride or social event.
