Page 24 - Who Are You-Reflections of a Dementia Survivor
P. 24
Who do you see
Who do you see
When you look at me
Do you see a face, that you once knew
Or is this face just blank to you.
Why do you remember friends from the past
Yet forget the man whom you stole his heart.
Are you married, you ask such things
Why do you wear a wedding ring
And what does your wife have to say
When each night with you I lay
For my touch, your mind does smooth
But one wrong word can change your mood
To one of fear when I am near
Or one of rage, frustration, tears
And me the stranger, once again appears.
But;
Deep in your mind, is there some little place
Someday to let a memory, of this face.
For who do you see
When you look at me
Do you see the man, whose love you knew
Or is this man just blank to you.
