Sunday Ride
Muswellbrook
13 Nov 2022
th
Today's group all met at Hexham under sunshine & clear blue sky.
Okay, that's what we wanted, but, really it was a grey, dreary, cloudy sky, but the sun DID
try to pop out, once.
John was todays ride leader. With a minor change to the morning tea location, we set off to
Magoony's Coffee House at Broke via Kurri with the usual sights & smells along the way.
There was a large number of pushbike riders on the road, a Newcastle to Lovedale for the
Wespac Rescue Helicopter ride.
We passed them easily.
Magoony's was busy again, the coffee was great and carrot cake with cream proved popu-
lar with the group.
After coffee &
snacks, the group
reduced to 3 due
to prior commit-
ments/rain radar
check. John,
Glenda & myself
continued on
along Milbrodale
& Putty roads to
Bulga, then onto
Golden Hwy to
Jerry's Plains.
About 8km North
of Jerry's, John
turned right onto
Edderton rd. A non marked, country, back road with awesome views of the surrounding
hills & valleys. This road came out onto Denmark rd, where we turned right & headed into
Muswellbrook for lunch at the RSL Bowling Club.
Upon our arrival, we were greeted by 2 other club members, Wendy & Wayne who had
made the trip for lunch.
The RSL had a large variety of meals available, freshly cooked & of a good size.
After a lunch with many conversations & after checking the rain radar, it was time to head
home by the most direct route.
John & Glenda put the wets on as although not heavy, the rain was constant with lots of
spray from the cars & trucks. My wet gear was sitting dry & safe at home.
All in all, another great day of people, views, food & riding.
Thanks to all,
Cheers Mick.
