Loyalty Beach Campground & Fishing Lodge
The Loyalty Beach Campground turn off, shortly before Seisia,
is clearly signed and another tourist favourite. It’s a great
destination for a few days or just an overnight stay.
Spread over 6 hectares along the beachfront you can choose
whatever lifestyle suits your stay. It’s bush camping at its best
and you won’t go away disappointed!
The beach fishing is popular, and you’ll see plenty of local
wildlife – furry, feathery, hoppity and if you’re so fortunate,
slithery. Keep an eye out for the Tawny Frogmouths and Cuscus
– a possum-like marsupial native to North Queensland and
Papua New Guinea.
Do check out DJ’s renowned Beach Garden Restaurant. Offering
breakfast and dinner every day during the season, Sunday
night’s fish’n’chips are a ‘must do’ for both locals and visitors.
The sunsets – don’t forget the sunsets! Arguably the best you’ll
see north of the Jardine River.
Loyalty Beach also offers tours with an experienced local guide.
So, when you’ve done enough driving and want to sit back and
take it easy, climb aboard the air-conditioned 4WD vehicle for a
trip to the Tip. You’ll discover the rich history and cultural
diversity of Cape York. The tour includes historical Somerset,
local indigenous communities, the Croc Tent - to grab a
souvenir or ten, WWII plane wrecks and a whole lot more. You’ll
enjoy a fresh buffet lunch and light refreshments in paradise.
Hire Boats are available for daily hire.
Helicopter flights are on offer - what better way to see the Tip
than from the air.
