This beautiful delicate satyrid is a new species to the
Levant, observed for the first time in Hatay in June
2009. In the south Amanos Mts, it is local and confined 4
to wet biotopes in the open Black Pine (Pinus nigra)
forest. Adults fly in dappled light along streams bordered
by vegetation, alighting on small branches and leaves
over water or on low plants. Males are territorial, mud
puddlers and sometimes feed on animal dung.
