 explicit prohibition of the Torah, namely (Vayikrah 19:16) “Do not    ,תמא אוּהֶשׁ ףא ,וֹרבח לע ערָה ןוֹשׁל רפּסל רוּסא )א( .א
 go tale-bearing about another Jew.”  Who is called a “tale-bearer?”      וּבּרְַתיֶּשׁ  לכו  .םיִבּרַ  ינְפִבּ  ןכֶּשׁ  לכו  .דיִחי  ינְפִבּ  וּלִּפא

 The  one  who  learns  about  things  and  goes  from  place-to-place

 remarks that degrade a fellow Jew, even if the remarks are truthful.

 Jew  (and  the  punishment  is  more  severe  than  speaking  Lashon
