A LIFE WORTH LIVING
Mother Ethel S. Bryant was born on August 1, 1930, in Camden County, Georgia
to James Wesley and Dollie Parland Wellman.
Mother Ethel Bryant was a 194 4 graduate of Risley High School in Brunswick,
Georgia. In 1948 she graduated from Morris Brown College in Atlanta, Georgia,
with a B.S. Degree in Elementary Education. She was a member of Zeta Phi Beta
Sorority. Her passion for teaching led her to schools in Brantley County, Georgia
and then to Jacksonville (Duval County) Florida where she taught for more than
35 years. After retiring from Duval County her love for teaching continued at
Esprit de Corps Center for Learning for another twenty (20) plus years.
In May of 197 3 Mother Ethel Bryant gave her life to Jesus after hearing a
message from then Sister Holmes that "You are never too old to get saved." Soon
after giving her life to the Lord, she became a member of Unity, Prayer, Bible,
Mission Outreach now known as Hope Chapel Ministries, Inc.
Mother Bryant traveled extensively throughout the United States and abroad,
sometimes with Apostle Dr. Jeannette C. Holmes-Vann who served as her Pastor for
over forty-eight (48) years. They shared the passion of being educators which
caused them to become the best of friends ..
