OUR
PRESIDENT’S
MESSAGE
I am honored and grateful to serve as the President of the First Coast Business Alliance (FCBA). I am truly
humbled and appreciative of the membership and the Board for entrusting me to serve in this capacity.
We at FCBA are excited about celebrating and recognizing the outstanding contributions of small, women
and minority businesses here on the First Coast.
The FCBA helps build bridges and create opportunities for small, women and minority businesses to con-
nect with local agencies, corporations, and resources. Annually, we have the pleasure of hosting the 2023
MED Week celebration. This year’s theme is “Positioned to Propel by Growing Generational Wealth, This Is
How We Do It!” At this year’s Breakfast, Dara Davis, a Jacksonville native entrepreneur specializing in con-
struction, delivered an inspiring and encouraging message to the businesses present. We also sponsored
the Procurement Day Celebration and Expo, hosted by the Florida Procurement Technical Assistance
Center (PTAC). This event offered small businesses with training sessions on government contracting and
networking opportunities with local contracting organizations. For today’s luncheon, you are in store for
a treat. Tamara Baker is an entrepreneur specializing in design-build consulting. We are super excited to
hear the message she has for our small businesses.
This week’s celebration would not have been possible without the support of all the agencies, businesses
and volunteers that were committed to ensuring the success of the FCBA and the MED Week celebration.
I would like to especially thank all our sponsors for their support, contribution of resources and in-kind
donations.
Once again, I would like to thank everyone for supporting the First Coast’s 2023 MED Week celebration.
RITA SCOTT
FCBA President
