My name is Elly and I operate Railway Creek Farm. This is a very busy farm with
3 enterprises going on at different times of the year. Right now, my focus is on
prepping more garlic planting and selling the last of the garden produce. A little
bit later on, I will be growing microgreens indoor for the winter market.
Getting ready to plant garlic is no easy task on a 1/4
acre field. Before the days of rain in mid September, I
spread manure with my little tractor and worked it in a
bit. the field is ready for planting! My team and I will
plant early October. I have more than 20 kinds of garlic
this year to grow for next years harvest. Most of what I
sell is for the backyard gardener to grow for
themselves.
The Veggie Market garden will be winding down sometime in November when the last of the root crops are dug
and sold. there will be regular cabbages, Napa cabbage, winter cabbage, carrots, beets, turnips, parsnips, fresh
greens, squash, tomatoes, eggplants, chard and kale and much more. All these items are easy to reach when you
order online and have them delivered to a location near your home.
When the summer garden veggies are done, I wont stop there! Then it will be the offerings of microgreens over
the winter to keep our salads fresh with nutrient dense greens when everything else is imported in our local
stores. If you are interested in any of these veggies please go to railwaycreekfarm.ca
