        NOTICE:  We  are  accepting  applications  for  people  working  or
        living in the Municipality of Centre Hastings area.

        Centre  Hastings  Fire  Department,  Station  #2  is  looking  for
        Volunteer Firefighters. Being a Volunteer Firefighter can be a very
        rewarding experience as you contribute to the safety of the entire
        community.

        A  reminder,  that  the  Centre  Hastings  Fire  By-Law  2014-31  is  in  effect  as  of  April  1st,  2022.  Please  ensure  no  burning
        between the hours of 0700 hrs – 1900 hrs (7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.)

        SUMMARY OF CENTRE HASTINGS FIRE BY- LAW 2014-31

        During the period from April 1st to October 31st no fire for burning grass, rubbish, wood, or other combustible material
        shall be permitted outdoors between the hours of 0700 hrs – 1900 hrs (7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.) except the following:
        • Fire for cooking or warmth
        • A small fire no more than 1 metre by 1 metre attended at all times by an adult.
        • A fire in a metal container covered by a metal mesh one-quarter inch in size.

        The Fire Chief can enact a burn ban at anytime based on the scientific information of fire conditions supplied by the
        Ministry of Natural Resources daily.  There shall be no Burning Permits required. By notifying the municipal office at 613
        473 4030 or 613 921 0432 after hours is appreciated and cuts down on faults alarm responses.

        Persons setting fires contrary to these regulations who permit fires to burn out of control shall be responsible for the
        cost of extinguishing such fires as described in Schedule A of the By-Law.
