THE MADOC & DISTRICT CHAMBER OF COMMERCE MARKS 45 YEARS!
This year, the Chamber marks 45 years of alignment with the interests of the businesses that drive our community’s
economic vitality. Incorporated as the Madoc & District Chamber of Commerce on August 30, 1979, the Madoc & District
Chamber will celebrate its 45th Anniversary on October 18, 2024 at their Business Excellence Awards.
For 45 YEARS, our past and present Board of Directors, and Chamber members have been the backbone of the Chamber.
They may not seek recognition, but their dedication and hard work deserve a tribute. President Shari Pearce said “We’re
celebrating a milestone and looking to the future for how we will continue to serve the business communities in the next 45
years. Our local Businesses are at the heart of everything we do at the Chamber. Our business communities are the Chamber.
We invite all the local businesses to join us in the celebration on October 18th!”
TOGETHER, we have achieved so much in building strong partnerships in our local communities. We look forward to
continued success in working together and making strong vibrant business communities.
THANK YOU to everyone!

TWEED & AREA ARTS COUNCIL
Mark your calendars for Sunday Sept. 29, 2 pm at the Marble
Arts Centre! The Tweed & Area Arts Council are welcoming
singer-songwriter Craig Cardiff to Tweed - Craig was
originally scheduled to open our season in April 2020…and
guess what, that did not happen! We are very happy he will be
coming our way this fall. Craig is based in Eastern Ontario but
is known all across Canada, and has developed a following
throughout North America and Europe. Guitar in hand, Craig
can turn any setting into an intimate affair, infusing his music
and lyrics with an uncompromising humanism rarely seen in
today’s production-heavy climate.
A modern troubadour, Craig Cardiff builds landscapes of
sound using live digital loops, bringing the room to a hush.
Each show is very personal, with lots of audience interaction,
and he is an extremely talented musician! Edgy, folky,
beautiful, and melancholy, one song breaks your heart, and
the next one puts it back together. Craig makes it a point to
keep the relationship with his fans personal, inviting and
accepting any opportunity to make his audience as much a
part of the performance as he is.
It's just a short trip to Tweed on a fall afternoon - You don’t
want to miss this show in the newly renovated Marble Arts
Centre, all in support of the work of the Arts Council!
Check out his music on Spotify and YouTube
